5 DAY TOUR FROM AGADIR TO CHEGIGA DESERT

Experience life as a nomad in desert, spend a night in a nomadic tent in the Sahara and ride camels across the old caravan routes. Drive deep into the Sahara Desert and cross the Atlas Mountains on this private 5-day Sahara Desert Morocco tour from Agadir.

Explore Taroudant, Taliouine, Agdz, Zagora, Ouarzazate, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou and Marrakesh during this private tour, in a private car with a private driver and a private guide. Explore the Erg Chegaga dunes, considered the “real” Sahara Desert with its authentic coloured sand dunes.  Discover the getaway to the desert and the mountains on a 4x4 car. You'll journey South through tiny Berber villages and the reservoir that irrigate Agadir.

DAY BY DAY DETAILED PROGRAM:

DAY 1 : AGADIR - OUARZAZATE :

Chegaga Aventure organises private Agadir desert tour. Departure from Agadir at 8 am, we visit Taroudant ( Medina, souks, ramparts, palace Salam…), We have lunch at Taliouine then continue to visit the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou ( classified as world heritage site by the UNESCO)… Dinner and overnight in hotel in Ouarzazate.

DAY  2 : OUARZAZATE - M'HAMID :  

We cross the beautiful valley of Drâa (4x4), we have lunch in Zagora then depart towards M’hamid the gate of the desert, passing through Tamgroute to visit the historical Koranic library and eventually the pottery manufacturing. Pause to rest and Bivouac.

DAY 3 : M'HAMID - CHIGAGA:

After breakfast, we depart in 4x4 through a sandy off-road heading to the big dunes of Chigaga. Lunch under the shadows of the palm trees and the tamarisk. In the afternoon, we continue on the off-road towards Chigaga. We arrive at the bivouac just before the sunset to appreciate a majestic view of the golden red sun setting down on the sand sea. Dinner and overnight in the bivouac or under the stars.

DAY 4: CHEGIGA DESERT :

After breakfast, we take a tour on the backs of camels and explore the sand sea and the immense dunes of Chegaga.

DAY 5 : CHEGAGA - AGADIR:

After breakfast, we depart to reach Agadir by the off-road of Chegaga crossing the dried bed of Drâa and passing through the amazing lake of Iriqui before reaching Foum Zguid and continuing on the road of Taznakht. We stop at a local carpets cooperative for some detailed explanations of the different types of carpets and techniques of the region. We take the road again and cross Taliouine and visit the city of Taroudant. Once in Agadir, we take you to your hotel.
