GUIDED 5 DAY TREKKING IN THE MEHARIS M'HAMID

sleep in a traditional tent beneath Saharan stars and return to Marrakech through remote villages. Climb into the High Atlas to explore mountain kasbahs and descend to Ait-Ben-Haddou and the Draa Valley.

DAY BY DAY DETAILED PROGRAM:

TREKKING DAY 1 :

Chegaga Aventure organises private trekking tour in Sahara desert. Early departure after breakfast. We cross the whole Hamada of Draa, dry clay soil. Lunch at noon under the shadows of the Tamarisk, we continue our march in the afternoon to a more rocky land to reach the dunes of Bougarne, we Set the bivouac, bread sand, and night ambiance.

TREKKING DAY 2 :

We cross Nebkit Sidi Taieb and go towards Erg Smar, where we see the remains of an ancient nomadic village and a well to refresh the tired souls. We set the bivouac for the night.

TREKKING DAY 3 :

We cross the valley once again to reach the immense dunes of Zahar. We will only walk in the morning but for a long distance to reach the dunes to fully enjoy the scenery in the afternoon. We can spot the Algerian borders in the distance. We spend the afternoon in the dunes. Bivouac.

TREKKING DAY 4 :

We cross the Reg Bousnina to regain Sidi Naji  in the afternoon, where lays the tomb of an ancient marabout, that became a pilgrimage destination for nomads. Bivouac.

TREKKING DAY 5 :

We take the road heading towards M’hamid for lunch. Before arriving to M’hamid, we will visit the old kasbahs on the way. Chegaga Aventure would like to thank you for trekking in Chegaga with trusted and professional travel company.

Fees are all included: transport in 4 x 4 or minibus, desert / mountain experienced guide, and half board accommodation. The flights to and from Marrakech are not included.
