Chegaga Aventure organises private mountain trekking tour in Morocco. Departure at 8h30 heading towards the Tichka pass, 2260m, the highest road-pass in Morocco, a grandiose panoramic scenery, not for the weak hearted. Along the road, many Berber villages perched in the mountains in the middle of forests and rose bushes. After the pass, the landscape becomes more and more arid and dry. We stop in Ouarzazate for lunch then continue to Skoura and its wonderful palmeraie before reaching Kalâat Mgouna, a fortress in the M’Goun mountainous chain. After This town, we head towards the Dades gorges and its various beautiful kasbahs. In the evening we reach the Kasbah of Ait Youl in Dades where we will have dinner and spend the night.

TREKKING DAY 2 : KASBAH OF AIT YOUL DADES / AGURZAGA : AIT YOUL,  DADES (KASBAH, 6 KM FROM DADES DEEP IN THE GORGES - MGOUN-AGUERZAKA VALLEY)

5 hours of marching, last preparations for the trek. Departure at around 8h30, we start our trek in the Dades Valley. We cross many agricultural fields and terraces (corn, barley, rose bushes…). We will discover the vibrant green valley of Ouzighimt, and have lunch in Ighrem N’Aqdim on the river bank, then continue our march to reach the village of Aguerzaka. Here, the water and the shadow are abundant and we will have to get our feet wet to pass. We will spend the night in Aguerzaka.

TREKKING DAY 3 : AGURZAGA / ALMDOUNE: AGUERZAKA - AMESKAR VALLEY- ALEMDOUNE - CAMP - 5H MARCHE.

We leave this vibrant valley and its marvellous kasbahs and gorges, to climb about 200m towards the pass that leads to the valley of Ameskar through a juniper forest. We encouter a new village and various houses on the shape of kasbahs of mud. Lunch in the valley of Amskar-Tahtani then we continue our way following the main path until Alemdoune 1700m.

TREKKING DAY 4 : ALMDOUNE./ BOUTGHRAR:

Alemdoune – Quati valley (bay roses Gorges)- Boutarhrar - Camp - 5h of marching. We descend gently the valley of bay roses (we will pass the gorges in sandals). The rose fields start to show up and take more place in the middle of cereal agricultures (corn, barley, wheat…) and many spiky rosy walls are encircling the fields to prevent goats and sheep from entering and damaging the agriculture. The valley have started transforming and manufacturing rose water products and even exporting abroad. We descend towards Ait Said and Hdida to have lunch then continue towards Tabarkhacht.

We continue our descent of the valley of roses until we reach its capital, El-Kelai M’Goun, where the annual festival of roses takes place each May. We cross many small cultivated zones with a mixture of rose bushes, fig trees and almonds and peaceful villages camouflaged in the greenness and freshness of the oases. Halfway, we ascent a little cliff to have a panoramic view of the whole region. We cross a vast deserted plateau before returning to the freshness of mud kasbahs by the orchards.
